Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Stamped "C HART & SON / SHERBURNE", New York State origin, circa 1853-1858, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a flower emanating from a leafy stem, accented with dashed trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Small chips and nicks to inner rim, where a lid would rest. A minor iron ping near base. Black marker notations on underside. Some light staining to front.
