Very Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stamped "WEBSTER & BERGEN / NORTH BAY", New York State origin, circa 1850, cyindrical jug with flared spout, decorated with a stenciled design of a spread-winged eagle, perched on a tree stump surmounted by stars. Brushed cobalt number 3 below maker's mark. Broken and restored, including paint applied to stenciled eagle design. Restored handle.
