Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a lightly-brushed swag and hanging tulip design. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. In-the-firing crazing to area at base. Some black paint to midsection. A minor iron ping to shoulder molding. A few in-the-firing chips to underside at edge.
