Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H. MYERS", attributed to Henry Remmey, Sr., Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with squared rim, footed base, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a boldly-brushed stem bearing fan-shaped flower blossoms. Cobalt highlights to tops of handles and a curved line of cobalt connecting the handle terminals. Impressed with "H. MYERS" mark on shoulder. Incised with a number 4 below left handle. Excellent decoration, form, and color. Left handle restored. Two faint vertical lines to base area. A few base chips. A minor, glazed-over rim chip.
