Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.," circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed tulips. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Some fry to cobalt. A short, faint surface line at base, which is not visible on the interior. A long glazed-over line on interior, which occurred in the firing and is not visible on exterior. Two large spots of staining to reverse and lesser staining on left side of front.
