One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with slightly-flared collar, decorated around the body with a series of brushed swags and hanging flowers. Swag decoration flanking the spout and brushed foliate or tulip blossom motifs on each side of the collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a glaze drip descending front of pitcher and a smooth, glazed-over nick to rim on reverse.
