One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Alexandria, VA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "E.J. MILLER & SON. / DEALERS IN / CHINA AND / GLASS WARE. / ALEXANDRIA. VA.". Freehand stripe decoration above and below stenciling. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some traces of paint on reverse.
