One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape Decoration, James River Valley of Virginia origin, circa 1840-1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed stylized drape design. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A reglued 3 1/2" L-shaped piece at base / underside. A few rim chips.
