One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, probably Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, VA, circa 1838-1863, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two leaves conjoined at the base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed "1" on front. Large section of one handle restored. A very shallow 3/4" rim chip, a small rim chip, and a minor rim nick.
