Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Floral Decoration, attributed to Abial Price, Matawan, NJ, or the Ingell Family, Taunton, MA, circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout and ribbed handle, decorated with a distinctive brushed design of a tulip emanating from wreath-like leaves with a scalloped border. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent condition with a smooth, 1 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark to front and a minor 7/8" line to base on reverse.
