One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Shaking Hands Decoration, Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled design of two shaking handles with well-detailed shirt cuffs. A smooth, approximately 1 1/2" rim chip on reverse, possibly in-the-making. A faint Y-shaped hairline to shoulder, not visible on interior. An iron ping to base.
