Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration and 1870 Date, attributed to the Brown Brothers Pottery, Huntington, Long Island, New York, 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two flowers in the Brown Brothers style flanking the date "1870". Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
