Scarce Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, third quarter 19th century, small-sized, ovoid pitcher with footed base and short, flaring collar, the front decorated with a two-stemmed clover plant design, the collar with large swags flanking the spout. Desirable size. Sealed top-to-bottom, jagged crack from rim on left side of pitcher. Thin horizontal crack through handle. A few chips to molding at base of collar. A shallow 5/8" chip to interior of spout, where spout meets rim. Other lesser spout wear and two rim chips. H 7".
