Rare Squat-Shaped Stoneware Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jar with semi-squared rim and highly unusual squat form, the surface dipped in a whitish slip and covered in a salt glaze. Wonderful, folky form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 5" ; Diameter 5 3/4".
