Glazed Redware Bowl with Manganese Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, tapered bowl with tooled rim, the interior decorated with sponged manganese around the shoulder area and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on reverse. Wear to interior base area and additional lesser wear to interior shoulder. Shiny residue on interior suggests the interior may have been shellacked. H 4" ; Diameter 11 1/2".
