Rare Diminutive Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and semi-squared rim with tooled midsection, the surface deocrated with sponged reddish-brown manganese over a yellowish-orange ground. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Excellent size and colorful glaze. Wear to rim. Some minor flecks of glaze loss to surface. Faint 2" line from rim on interior, not visible on exterior. A few small glaze flakes to interior. H 3 5/8".
