Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H B PFALTZGRAFF / YORK PA", circa 1870-1889, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed design of a leaf and tulip connected at the stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Pfaltzgraff Pottery Archives, York, PA. Long crack on underside, continuing 6 1/4" up reverse. Front with a 2 1/2" chip to rim, adjacent to small chip, and a second 1 1/8" chip to rim on front.
