Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Hudson River Pottery, Manhattan, NY, circa 1845, cylindrical jug with rounded spout and applied handle, featuring the elaborate impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising "P LEAHY / IMPORTERS & DEALERS IN / WINES LIQUORS SEGARS & C / 170 CHURRY ST / OPPOSITE MARKET SLIP". Front featuring a large slip-trailed tulip accented with spots. Includes wooden stopper. Shallow chipping to spout. A shallow 3/4" chip to side of handle. A few other nicks and light wear to handle.
