Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with New York City Advertising, New York City or New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical form with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed leaf below the impressed and cobalt advertising "ROBERT. WORTHINGTON / 2315 THIRD AVE / NEW YORK". A 6" crack from rim on reverse and 2" crack from rim above right handle. A glazed-over 1 1/4" chip to one handle and smaller post-firing chip to same handle. A 1 3/4" chip to rim on front, beside a tiny nick, along with a chip to interior of rim, and a minor rim nick on reverse. Some water glass staining.
