Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "I.V. MACHETT", Cornwall, NY, circa 1850, highly-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder, semi-squared spout, and applied handle, decorated with a drooping tulip motif. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark, spout, and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a shallow chip on top of spout, a small in-the-firing contact mark / chip to top of handle, and a few drips of old paint.
