Glazed Redwared Lidded Jar with Manganese Decoration, Norwalk, CT or Huntington, Long Island, New York origin, circa second quarter 19th century, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder and flared rim, the surface decorated with daubs of manganese and covered in a heavy clear lead glaze. Includes original redware lid with manganese decoration. Wear to rim of jar. Scratches to glaze on body of jar. A 1" section of shallow chips to base of jar. A tiny chip to edge of lid and typical light wear to edge of lid's knob. H (including lid) 10 1/2".
