Rare Stoneware "Grand Army of the Republic" Stump Pitcher, Incised "GAR," possibly Jane Lew, WV or Ohio origin, fourth quarter 19th century, diminutive Albany-slip-glazed pitcher with incised bark, applied saw limbs and knots, and impressed screwhead handle terminal. Front with applied wreath surrounding the incised letters "G A R" for Grand Army of the Republic, a fraternal organization composed of Union Civil War veterans. Several small rim chips. A small chip to interior of spout and some wear to spout. H 5 1/4".
