Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. / PA.," circa 1880, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large stenciled design of a Federal eagle clutching arrows with shield across its chest. Brushed freehand stripes to shoulder area and base, the base additionally decorated with a freehand "3" flanked by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent decoration and form. Large inverted Y-shaped crack, which is sealed, on right side of churn's front. Wear to inner rim where lid would rest.
