Quart-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with three brushed leaves around shoulder. Some faint surface lines on underside, one of which extends 1 1/4" onto base. Shallow chipping to rim, part of which appears to be an in-the-firing kiln furniture flaw. A tiny chip near base. Three in-the-firing discolored spots to rim. H 7".
