One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN. BROTHERS / HUNTINGTON. L.I," circa 1863-1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed stylized flower blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A small in-the-firing contact mark to side of jar. A 1 1/8" chip to underside at edge, partially visible at base. A small, faint Y-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. A small iron ping to interior.
