One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, featuring an unusual slip-trailed design of a spotted daisy extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Good size and decoration. A large discolored oval area on side of jug. An approximately 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Y-shaped hairline at base on reverse, continuning 1 1/2" onto underside.
