One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt tulip design. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Faint 5 3/4" surface line on front, not visible on interior. Faint 3 3/4" vertical surface line on reverse, not visible on interior. Some staining.
