Rare and Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Large Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, the front decorated with a very large fuchsia blossom between opposing graduated swags and stripes above and below. Reverse/side of jar includes the very rare addition of a second fuschia blossom extending from a leafy stem. An excellent example of a desirable Western PA form. Chipping to interior of rim. 1" surface line to rim on front, not visible on interior. Small in-the-firing stone ping to base. H 8 1/4".
