Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER. / ROCHESTER," New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with thick spout, decorated with a slip-trailed flowering plant with alternating shaded and hollow petals. Slip-trailed "2." above. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Two short lines in spout molding. Small chip to spout on reverse. A minor, smooth in-the-firing base chip and a minor base nick.
