Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Man's Head, Midwestern origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, thin rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a very large brushed design of a man's face with long nose and tulip to cheek area. Brushed cobalt highlight to capacity mark and handle terminals. Folky decoration. Some exfoliation to surface. Light wear to one handle. Professional restoration around base. 3" x 1" professionally-restored area to rim.
