Salt-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped ".C MILBURN," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1867-1873, cylindrical jar with flared collar and unusual Albany-slip-glazed interior, with impressed Milburn maker's mark on shoulder. The mark ".C MILBURN" is likely the mark of Stephen Calvert Milburn, "S.C. MILBURN," used at a time when the "S" had broken off. Shallow 1 1/4" chip to top of rim, possibly in-the-firing. H 6 7/8".
