One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON. NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird with crest, percedh on a stylized branch. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. In-the-firing chip at base. Hairline across underside, extending several inches up reverse.
