Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird with fan-shaped tail "running" atop a stylized vine. Good detail to bird's body. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. In-the-firing drip to shoulder / handle on reverse.
