Two Stoneware Shoes, probably New York State or Midwestern U.S. origin, late 19th and / or early 20th centuries, a molded stoneware shoe with heel and bow, the surface covered in a salt glaze and decorated with cobalt highlights, fourth quarter 19th century; paired with a similar Albany-slip-glazed shoe, late 19th or early 20th century. Salt-glazed example with small chip to heel and minor nick to sole. Albany-slip-glazed example with some shallow chipping to heel. L (of salt-glazed shoe) 5 3/8".
