Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "T.G. DAUB / EASTON, PA," late 19th century, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, decorated with a folky brushed design surrounding the base of spout, resembling a flower blossom. Additional cobalt highlights to ears. Includes original wood-and-wire bail handle and tin covers. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from Pennsylvania. Excellent condition with two minuscule spots of wear of edge of handle on reverse. Separation along seam of spout cover.
