Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.B. PFALTZGRAFF / YORK, PA," circa 1870-1889, ovoid jug with wide, semi-squared spout, the front decorated with a large floral spray featuring four opposing tulip blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's and capacity marks. Excellent size and decoration. X-shaped crack on underside, with one section of crack continuing 10 1/2" up side of jug. Chipping to interior of spout.
