Stoneware Canning Jar with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, attributed to the Boughner Family, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, tapered canning jar with tooled shoulder, and flared rim with wax sealer interior, decorated with bold graduated swags against a light clay ground. Excellent color and strong decoration. Significant professional restoration to rim and inner wax sealer rim. Profesional restoration to area on reverse, extending from midsection downward and a short distance onto underside. H 7".
