Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid jug with tooled spout and ribbed handle, decorated with a large freehand above above a script "2" flanked on each side by six graduated stripes. Two additional freehand stripes at base. Essentially as-made condition with a glazed-over chip to side of handle and a small chip to top of handle.
