Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Paddletailed Bird Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar with semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird with paddle-shaped tail, perched on a flowering vine. Chips to left handle. One chip to right handle. A few rim chips. Wear to interior of rim. Some light water glass staining to surface.
