Two-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to the Crolius Pottery, Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, flared rim, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed drape design accented with small foliate motifs. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Long, sealed jagged crack from rim, with associated rim chip. An additional small chip on interior of rim. A few small base chips.
