One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with semi-squared rim molding, decorated around the body with a large brushed leaf design. Collar and spout decorated with brushed swags. Essentially as-made condition. An approximately 1 3/4" in-the-firing chip / contact mark to reverse with 3/4" piece of clay adhered to surface above. Additional smaller contact marks to front, some with adhered bits of clay.
