Lidded Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, approximately one to one-and-a-half-gallon crock of cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt leaves on the front and reverse. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals, along with dashes below each handle. Includes swag-decorated lid, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, but probably not original to this crock. Crock in very nice condition with some small rim chips. Lid with some nicks to flange on underside.
