Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, featuring James Hamilton maker's stenciling to the body above a bold-faced "4", along with stenciled foliate accents. Freehand stripes at shoulder and base. Staining to surface. Two chips on interior of rim. Wear to end of one handle. Tight lines on underside, one of which extends onto base on front.
