Large-Sized Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to N.A. White & Son, Utica, NY, circa 1885, with footed base and tooled shoulder with carved oval opening, the sides decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed leafy vine design. Albany-slip-glazed interior. Chips to top edge. Some fry to cobalt. In-the-firing 3 1/2" separation on underside, which is glazed-over on interior. H 5 7/8" ; Diameter 11 1/2".
