Two Rockingham-Glazed Spittoons, American, second half 19th century, a wheel-thrown example with carved semi-circular opening, covered in a reddish-brown Rockingham glaze, paired with a molded octagonal example with raised flowering urn motifs. Wheel-thrown example with base chips, a 2 1/2" line from base, and wear to rim. Molded example with a small in-the-firing rim chip and some light wear to surface. H (of wheel-thrown example) 4 5/8" ; D (of wheel-thrown spittoon) 8 3/8".
