Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two hanging cobalt flowers on the front and back. Dashed brushwork under each handle. Some faint surface lines at base, continuing a short distance onto underside. Small chip to one end of each handle. 2 1/4" surface line from rim, not visible on interior.
