Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Foliate Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with four brushed leaves in vibrant cobalt slip. A chip to shoulder, probably in-the-firing. Salt drip near base. Two contact marks near base. Tiny, glazed-over rim nick. 1 3/4" hairline from rim. Other minor rim wear, primarily in-the-firing. H 7".
