Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Mug, attributed to S. Bell & Son or J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, late 19th century, barrel-form mug with tooled line at midsection and applied handle, the surface decorated with streaks of green and brown over a cream-colored slip ground with traces of orange clay showing through. Restored 2 3/4", 2 1/2", and 2 1/4" cracks from rim. Heavy varnishing to surface around top half of mug. Some additional hairlines. Heavy restoration to interior of rim area. 1 1/2" area of restoration to very top of rim. Additional wear to top of rim. H 5".
