Fine Rockingham-Glazed Spaniel on Base, probably East Liverpool, Ohio, third quarter 19th century, finely-molded figure of a seated spaniel on base with raised acanthus leaf and floral decoration. Surface decorated with streaks of brown and blue over a yellow ground. This example is unusual in that the tail protrudes over the edge of the base. Particularly fine detail to dog's fur and base.
