Scarce Two-Gallon Tanware Flowerpot, New York State origin, fourth quarter 19th century, tapered pot with semi-rounded rim and attached saucer, Albany-slip-decorated with J-shaped foliate designs around the midsection. Dipped Albany slip to base and shoulder. Impressed "2" at base. New York State tanware is considered difficult-to-find. 5 1/2" crack from rim. 3 3/4" surface line from rim, visible on exterior only. Two small saucer chips and a very minor saucer nick. H 9 1/2".
